Fully roasted, but no peanut

Well, I just had my 40th week check up today and we are a little sad. No new progress in the south, so I have an induction scheduled for next Wednesday, November 7th. We would check in Tuesday night and by Wednesday night peanut will have a real name! There is a 50/50 chance for a C-section with an induction, so we are praying for peanut to arrive on his own. Here lately every Friday when we go out we say, "this is probably our last date night without a baby" and every Friday night we are wrong! So, this Friday night we KNOW it will be the last one before peanut arrives.
We will keep everyone posted if anything new progresses. We have one more doctor's appt on Monday to check everything out so we'll see how that goes. I'll plan to bring my laptop to the hospital to share the good news with pictures of our sweet little guy.
Thanks for your prayers blogger fans!

I'm so glad to see this new post. I love the title and love the updates too. I'll be checking it out everyday until Peanut comes. I have my cell phone with me too and can't wait to hear any breaking news! It won't be long now Amy. Enjoy these last few days with you and Brian.

Funny title, Amy! I know it's frustrating just waiting. I can't wait to hear when he comes and I am so anxious to hear the name! I am guessing Nov. 2!

Witty Amy! Doesn't that mess HURT when they check you!?!? Did they tell you how you could progress the action if you're so inclined (no pun intended). LOL...

I just saw the floating baby...TODAY's your due date!?!?! Yeah...have a due date celebration!

YES, I've heard of a lot of ways to get things rolling and we've tried them all so, hopefully peanut will get moving on his own! And, it does hurt when they check you--have any of you been induced before? How long did you guys go passed your due dates with Caroline/AP?

Caroline was a week early, so I never had to be induced. One of my friends was induced yesterday and her baby came within 8-9 hours, so that was fast! Do you have one of those huge exercise balls? When I was pregnant w/ C, I would get on that at night and just bounce. They say that helps. And then there's always the #1 way...I'll let you figure that one out. Put it this way, it's uncomfy, but it's a sure labor starter!!

Hi Amy! I have been thinking about you this morning...trying to remember all my thoughts and feelings at this time with our first baby, Reese. I was induced with Leif and it took just about all day, but Dale and I had such a good time talking and hanging out while we waited for him to come. Inducing doesn't always mean a bad thing... and epiderals (sp?) are a good way to relax you and enjoy the rest of your birth. I'll be praying for you this week.... look forward to your posts!

whoooo! Today is Amy's due date!! Happy Halloween everyone! Amy, I've got my phone with me so please have Brian or someone call when anything happens. Can't wait!

Amy said...

Yes, I'll call when something happens for sure! Kelli--when you were induced and checked in the night before were you able to eat that night? hahaha..I'm worried about food.

WOOO HOOO, Amy's gettin BUSY. Go eat some really spicy, yummy Mexican tonight, then go for a jog around the block, then bounce on the ball and then BAW CHICHA BAW BAW. Sorry, Ame, but AP was 4 days early and came by her lonesome. They did have to give me some Pitosin(?) though to speed up my birth and that epidural was THE BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll be just fine no matter what!

I ate that night before we went in the morning to be induced. We too were still hoping that he would come on his own but to no avail! I wasn't allowed to eat the morning or throughout the time just in case I need a c-section. I ended up having him without one and ate that night... I was starving!!

Amy said...

Hannah you crack me up! Yes we had Mexican last night with lots of salsa! Thanks for the insight on induction, Kelli! I think buddy boy is comfy and not budging without some force!

Go with the #1 way to help speed up labor.....I'll just say it.....SEX. It does help. It helped with our first 2, the last two were different situations.

You will do fine! How exciting!

Donna said...

Good advice, Denise! I didn't want to say it because I don't know who reads this blog but it IS a sure show starter. It worked for Caroline and I'm convinced it's what got her here early:)

OK..Ame...my big vote was for tomorrow. Think you can pull it off?!?!? I feel your pain, girl, I feel your pain!

Amy said...

I really think he isn't coming until they make him, but I'm trying my hardest to coax him out!

Donna said...

They always say on A Baby Story that castor (sp?)oil makes babies come early? Check with your doctor first, though!! I wouldn't even know where to buy castor oil!

Dolly said...

Amy!!!! Any progress? I am hoping you'll hold out until I get home atleast. I'm so excited for when it happens!

Amy said...

I have heard about castor oil, but haven't tried that yet. No progress as of 9:30 on Sat the 3rd...I'll keep you posted! I think Wed. is the day!

wow, 21st post here on "fully roasted, but not peanut."
i have enjoyed reading the funny posts and comments. it looks like you could end up having a "teecy baby" after all. you know like a "christmas baby" or a "halloween baby?" well, if he is born on nov. 5th it would be called a "teecy baby!" and then when you tell people he is a teecy baby they would say, "oh, what's a teecy baby?" and then you say, "you don't know what a teecy baby is? go home and google it."
why am i talking such nonsense?
