Bring on the rice cereal!!

Well, it's official, our baby is growing up!! It's sweet, cute and sad all at the same time. We decided to have the ceremonial rice cereal first feeding today because Samuel is constantly staring at us when we eat. The other day I put a spoon full of food in my mouth and he watched it go in and then put his hand on my mouth as if to ask, "where'd it go"!? So, we figured he was more than ready for some solids. From the first bite he was hooked! He kept trying to take over the spoon and feed himself. It was a messy experience, but I can't blame all of it on Samuel...several times the runny cereal ran right off the spoon and onto Samuel and the highchair. Our baby is an eater like his mama and daddy for sure!

Okay, first of all Amy, you have the cutest little guy ever! He is absolutely beautiful!!
On your last comment about Samuel taking after his mom... I remembered how you would get food in your hair and would have coffee spilt on your clothes...has that changed?
Be prepared to double up on laundry duty! The cutest loads ever to do!

I cannot believe he's a grown man already! I remember how much Caleb Loved his cereal (he did oatmeal cereal), but he would have it everywhere! And you wonder, how can someone soooo small make such a large mess?? He's too cute Amy!

Hi Robin! Caleb is precious too--wish I could squeeze those cheeks!

Steve!! SO good to hear from you! I just checked out your website--whoa, someone has been BUSY! What a great site and I want to read your book. Is it sold at Christian bookstores? As far as blog roll--you mean the blogs I have listed on the side of my blog? I'll add you right now. Best to you and keep in touch! Oh, we are going to Hope now b/c it's closer.

He is so cute! I love those eyes:) I'm glad the cereal went well. Did it make a difference in his sleeping?

Amy said...

Thanks, Donna! Well, he IS doing better w/ the naps now. I am glad I stuck w/ the new schedule. I am only giving him the cereal at the 4pm feeding, so I'm not sure if it's helping with the sleep. He averages around 10 - 11 hours a night so he's doing pretty good.

Amy, I LOVED seeing little Samuel and you and Brian. He's getting so big and so handsome and makes me so excited to have a baby! Can't wait to see you again soon. Thanks again for your sweet hospitality.

Amy, pride is indeed an understatement when I look at this young lad. As I've said a number of times, when I look at Samuel it's like looking back in history 37+ years ago in seeing Brian all over again. That is the beauty of being a grandparent, reliving years gone by with pride, joy and yes, a little sorrow that your little boy will never be that little anymore. Looking forward this week to hold and kiss my grandson. Thanks for giving me this wonderful present.

Dolly--SO good to see you too. I love being able to catch up in person any time we can get! Your cell battery is dead in DC, isn't? I hope you had a WONDERFUL anniversary!

Hi K, yes, he LOVED the food. So good to catch up w/ you on the phone the other day. Samuel is doing well with the new nap times now--:).

Dad V---You're are welcome for your special gift! It's my pleasure and I couldn't imagine life without him.

I finally checked out your blog, I've heard so much about it. Samuel is so adorable (little Brian). How wonderful that he is an eager eater, how I hope our next little boy is like him. Ethan is all about PLAY, meal time is long-suffering! We can't wait to meet Samuel!! We love you all!
