A special visit and an early birthday toy!

This was a very special weekend! One of my best friends, Dolly, had a beautiful baby boy named Michael. There have been several posts on his arrival, but I'm sure no one gets tired of seeing new pictures of a precious newborn. I drove up to VA on Sunday to visit the new arrival and it was definitely worth the trip. Michael has the sweetest little features and is just ADORABLE! He seemed so laidback too--just like his mommy & daddy. Dolly and Leland looked great for not having much sleep in the last few days. They are already such sweet, adoring parents...Michael is a very blessed boy!

Look at this proud mommy admiring her baby boy. Already such a priceless bond!

Sorry, Dolly, I think you thought I was getting both of you in this picture, but Michael is the true star of the show. Look at this little face--could he be any cuter, seriously!?!?!
So peaceful...I never heard him cry once!
It was very sentimental seeing Dolly with her new baby....I loved thinking of all the deep talks we had about our future husbands, kids, life and it was so wonderful to see how God has blessed her. I can't wait for Samuel to meet his new buddy!

Samuel will be one year old in a few weeks, but we could not wait to give him his new toy. It was a hit as you can tell in the videos.

YAY!! Love seeing pics of that little Michael, he is a cutie!! The videos of Samuel are adorable, he is walking so well! Those videos have to go on a cd for when he gets older.

So glad you were able to go see the Seckmans and meet sweet Michael! Thanks for posting your pictures...of course we want to see more. ;o) Dolly DOES NOT look like she just had a baby. Love the one of the two of you!
And what a fun toy for Samuel! I can't believe that he will be one already.....as I'm sure you can't even more. :O) From your pics, etc. what a year it has been! You and Brian have been GREAT parents. May the Lord continue to lead you guys as you raise sweet Samuel.

It is wonderful seeing Dolly now a MaMa. I am sure that Dolly will use another MaMa, Amy, as a great resource. Great to see you two college chums being mothers and no doubt the both of you will be great at it. It is hard keeping up with Samuel, when he was on the swing I thought maybe he would be a jet pilot now I think he may prefer race car driving. For sure he enjoys speed. Thanks Amy for your great blogs.

I got some of the video on the regular recorder--sad how we forget to get that thing out! Teecy--I know, it is emotional! I can't wait for you to get back to the states for good...all of our kids will benefit from it...miss you!
Ashleigh--that was a sweet comment, thank you! It was a treat to visit the Seckman's. And, yes, it has been quite a year raising our little guy. I hope/pray we follow God's lead as parents--that something we definitely don't want to mess up! Hope you are doing well and enjoying the brisk Carolina fall weather lately!
Dad V--We are excited to see you on Thursday to celebrate your big 70th! You look/act MUCH younger!:)

Amy, thanks so much for the pictures and I'm so happy you were able to make a quick trip to VA to see Dolly & the baby! I am SO excited to see Michael. He truly is ADORABLE and Dolly looks so content and so happy. God certainly has blessed her and no one deserves it more!

And let me also say that Samuel is just precious...he has some of the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. :) Hope he has a very happy b-day!!

How great to see all of you girls live out the dreams you shared with one another... you have so much to pass down to your children... so many wonderfully funl stories.
I have never been able to wait until the kids Birthday's to give them their gift. Dale always laughs because he knows it is torture for me to wait during the holidays to give them the things we bought in advance.

Yippee for Dolly!!! He is such a doll! And Amy, you better up your cardio, b/c as soon as Samuel starts walking, you will need the stamina to keep up with him. I cannot believe it has almost been a year! BTW I did the same thing with Caleb this year. I just couldn't wait until his birthday to give him his tricycle, so he got it a few weeks early.=)

what a sweet post Amy! I was so happy looking at the pictures and remembering that special day a week ago now. It seriously meant so much to me that you drove all the way to Lynchburg to meet Michael in person. He already loves his Auntie Amy! I am in love all over again with this little guy and feel so overwhelmed and blessed all at the same time.

I can't believe Samuel is already almost a year!!! I remember the day he was born and I was stuck in a train and couldn't be there. I'm so glad you and Brian have him and he's got you two for parents. HOpe to make it to his bday but we'll see. ILY

are you on facebook? we are both on there. i don't check it that often, but amy is on there all the time. that's a great way to keep in touch with her. she's really quick. did you know amy was writing a devotional book? she's really shy about it, but yep...she's doing it. she has so much wisdom inside that pretty head. gosh, i love her.

Hi Bari! Yes, I'll write you. I'm so sorry about your mom. I can't even imagine. I'm sorry it's affected you to the point of an eating disorder. I'm sure you have had a lot to work through. Teecy and I would be happy to talk to you. I wish you lived closer so we could get together in person! Well, at least Teecy will be back in GA for Christmas. I don't know how far the drive is, but that would be awesome to meet up! I'll write you on your email account too.
