I did it!

Here we are--in and out of the store in record time with no meltdown! Mission accomplished!
Ah..the fruits of my labor--Groceries and Samuel, get it?!
Just a cute picture I had to throw in--His Auntie Lynnie got him this cute number.

First of all, we had a rough night last night. Samuel's sleep monitor that sets off an alarm if it senses no breathing in 20 seconds, went off at 12:30am because Samuel had worked his way to the bottom of the crib off the sensor. Well, he didn't go back to sleep until 3:30am! Brian in the meantime tells me, "you need to nap when he naps tomorrow instead of blogging:)"...well, easier said than done! I have a hard time napping during the day lately anyway.

Today was a BIG day....I know this is going to sound crazy to you veteran mom's, but one of my fears has been taking Samuel to the grocery store. I think it has to do with the fact that he hated his carseat for so long coupled with his acid reflux fussiness--grocery shopping just seemed like torture. However, a Harris Teeter just opened literally less than 1/2 mile from my house, so I decided it was time to tackle this little fear. I'm happy to say, all went SUPER! Granted, I was speeding through the grocery store with wreckless abandon, but he did great. He probably felt queasy from my lightning speed throughout the store, but he didn't show it! So, I decided to get a picture to mark the occasion and I have to say--it was embarrassing to ask the bagger take the picture. I told him it was our first trip just the two of us to the grocery store---I don't think he really cared! It's so nice having the store so close because within one hour I was able to feed/change Samuel, get groceries and put dinner in the crockpot before my little guy's nap.

Yeah! FTP! See Amy, you did it and now it will be a piece of cake to go to the grocery store anytime you need. I'm proud of you. Easier said than done I'm sure. Two great things today, you tackled your fear and you updated your blog. I would have LOVED to see you posing while the grocery clerk took your picture. hahahaah! Good job.

LOL at you getting the bag boy to take your picture! That's great, Amy! I'm glad Samuel is letting you grocery shop again! Have you tried carrying him in your Baby Bjorn while you shop? Maybe he'd fall asleep and you could take your time and linger in Harris Teeter some?!
He is looking more like you. I think he has your big brown peepers:) HAHAHA! Laughing that I said peepers.

Actually Amy has big BLUE peepers.

I'll have to try the Baby Bjorn next time....I'd love to have more time to look!

I just went back are re-read this post and I'm LOL at the first picture of you! You can tell by your face that you feel silly getting the boy to take your picture and you're thinking "take it, quick!"
I just realized Samuel's eyes were blue, too. So, he has BIG BLUE PEEPERS!

Yeah AMY! Way to go on your big accomplishment.

Curbside pickup is THE BOMB with a babe and SO is the Express Lane when you order stuff online and go pick it up at the curb. FYI...1st time is free and in the summer, I think it's free too!

Congrats Amy! You have conquered a fear and did a great job doing it! You don't even look like you had a baby... what is your secret? I know you've talked about noshing on doughnuts... where can I get doughnuts that will make me stay trim like that? The Bjorn is a great help for the longer trips and you can fit more into your cart:)!

HPS--I saw that curbside pickup-I may try that!!
Kelli--that picture makes me look slimmer than I really am b/c of that jumpsuit I'm wearing. Black jumpsuits are great after you have a baby I've found!!

Amy you are funny. Next time just strap on that Baby Bjorn! That is what I always used. That way the baby feels like they are being held and feels close to Mommy!

Oops just read Donna's comment. Donna are we sista's or what?

This is my first official comment on your blog! I hope you don't mind me peeking in on your life. :)

Great job on the grocery store outing! I can SO remember how daunting all those things seemed to me when Max was a baby...will the carrier fit in the cart, what if he has a dirty diaper and I have a cart full of groceries?? Now, I just worry if he's going to touch the apples and they all roll off onto the floor. Just different worries as they get older!

By the way, how do girls get the Baby Bjorn on and off by yourself??? I swear, I could never do it by myself - my husband always had to help me.

Jennifer---feel free to peek anytime! I'll have to mosey on down to check out your blog and see Max! I can't get the BB on by myself either, so I may have to practice before our next store outing.

You really did DO IT! Wow! Amy, this is the first picture I've really seen of you after having Samuel and I have to say first that you look simply AMAZING! Stunning, hot, skinny, fine....secondly, I'm really jealous! I still look 6 months prego! Also, Samuel is a litte Brian! SO STINKIN CUTE!
Way to be an 85 on the cool scale and have a bagger take your picture! What, I'm confused you say? Silly, this isn't the college cool-scale you're on anymore, it's the MOM scale! And let me tell you, you might just be the BRENT of Moms if you know what I mean :) It's a fresh start for you MO! Take it while you can because the cool scale changes when your kids become teenagers!

Mary, I can't take the pressure of the COOL scale--it's haunting me even in my 30's now! Dad V, Brian is picking up your woman around 12:20---we are excited to have her!

Amy, I LOVE that you asked the bagger to take your pic!! That's great! Samuel is adorable, as always. We really need to get together soon!

Thanks, Jen! Yes, it was quite embarrassing---all for the sake of a good blog moment:). Sorry we missed you guys last night. It was a rough night the night before and we were zombies. He slept great last night though--PTL.
